Every day, a team of ten brilliant, driven people works hard to develop Minggo and innovate the recruitment sector. This ‘Minggo Makers’ series showcases the people that help make Minggo possible. Today’s feature is Jaron Schaillée, in charge of digital sales.
Name: Jaron Schaillée
Age: 21 years old
Job title: Digital Sales
Part of the Minggo team since: July 2020
Place of residence: Gentbrugge, Belgium
I’m Jaron, the youngest member of the team. I was born and raised near Gent, and am in love with the area, so I’ll never leave. In my free time, I like to play paddle and table tennis and go to parties with friends.
I graduated from my marketing programme last year, and I specialised in sales. I ended up at Minggo because of my internship. At the time, Minggo was still a start-up, and I was able to work on the commercial foundation of Minggo and the launch campaign. My co-workers soon realised that I was able to grasp and explain these concepts really easily. They felt that I would do well in sales. Before my internship had even ended, I signed my contract as Digital Sales officer for Minggo.
As Digital Sales officer, I make sure that our target audience becomes aware of Minggo, that we reach the right people, and ultimately, that we can sell our product, Minggo. I contact prospects, both online and offline, and provide demos of our product. I maintain close contact with our clients, and try to find ways to use Minggo to respond to their needs.
I am also closely involved in our marketing department, and help them come up with new and original content to publish on our various social media channels. As such, my job is very versatile. I enjoy it immensely, and am very glad to have this job as the first step in my career.
I was immediately inspired by Minggo’s awesome branding when I was busy choosing a company to intern with. I was entirely unfamiliar with recruitment technology at the time, but the innovation of and possibilities offered by Minggo drew me in. I’ve always been interested in technology in any case.
From day 1, I really enjoyed the dynamic atmosphere, the nice office space, and my enthusiastic co-workers. It’s great to have co-workers that are like-minded and are there for you when you encounter challenges or problems. When I was offered my contract during my internship, I didn’t hesitate for a second.
I’ve worked at Minggo for one year now, and there are three moments that I recall very clearly. Before Covid-19 kept us all from working together at the office, we always had a lot of fun together. For example, we’d all take a 5-minute break at 3:30pm to have a nerf gun fight – it was awesome!
In October of last year, I got to speak at a large-scale online event, Demo Day Belgium. This was my first team speaking in front of a large audience like that, and I loved it – even more so because the moderator was one of my colleagues, Carol.
The third, most recent moment I want to mention has to do with the title of ‘fittest company in Belgium’. The entire team is currently exercising as much as possible to win the honour of being awarded that title. We’re all really competitive. I live around the corner from my co-worker Carol, so we’ve been exercising together. That’s so cool – in more traditional companies, you wouldn’t generally go for a run with your boss or supervisor. At Minggo, everyone is so committed that there is a real sense of connection, beyond just being professional partners.
